About the Founder
Hello!
I’m Mike Norton, the heart and hustle behind Big Baby Gorilla Bear. My journey hasn’t been a straight line or an ordinary one. I became a high school dropout my junior year due to a close family member’s life-changing medical trauma. From being a high-school dropout to working my way through an MBA, I faced the challenges life threw my way. I explored multiple job paths, with each step teaching me perseverance, resilience, creativity, and the value of authenticity. Along this journey, I’ve experienced everything from being an outcast to having a wide circle of friends. During the loneliest times, something as simple as a cool T-shirt gave me a boost of confidence, helping me feel more connected and seen, even when I sat alone at the lunch table.
Inspired by how a piece of clothing can change how we feel about ourselves, I created Big Baby Gorilla Bear to empower others through fashion. Our T-shirts are designed not just to be worn, but to be experienced—to give anyone who puts one on the confidence to face the world with their head held high.
